The First Meeting

Ten months before the wedding, Anna, the bride & her mother approached us with an exciting request: to transform a traditional white marquee into a beautifully decorated wedding venue.

 We love the challenge of taking a blank canvas, like a plain white marquee, and turning it into something wondrous.

Our first meeting took place in a cozy Holywood café on a grey wintery day, where we brainstormed ideas, drawing inspiration from our previous work, Instagram and Pinterest.

We discussed everything in great detail:

• The overall vibe and style of the day: What atmosphere did they want to create for their guests?
• Colour schemes & lighting design
• Seating and lounge areas for guest comfort: What would be needed to create comfortable spaces for mingling?
• Table settings, linens and decor
• Timings and logistics: What was the schedule, and how could we ensure everything flowed smoothly?
• Budget and guest count: How would we bring their vision to life within their budget for the number of guests?
• Collaborating with other suppliers: From florists to caterers, bartenders to the band, we discussed how we’d work seamlessly with other suppliers to create a unified experience.

After the meeting, we created mood boards and itemized quotes, refining the design until everything was agreed upon. With that, we were ready to bring the vision to life and make their wedding day truly spectacular.

Final Preparations

The week of the wedding, it was all hands on deck and the final preparations were in full swing. The team was busy organizing and packing vans, making sure everything on their checklist was accounted for with nothing left to chance. With a few days to go, Rachael and Tim, Anna's florist, met at our trusted local supplier to pick up mountains of fresh green foliage for the marquee and prep flowers for Tim's gorgeous table centres.

Day One; arriving at the VAST empty marquee, all the foliage and lighting was prepped and hung in the ceiling first, to allow the team free movement throughout the structure.

Day Two; we unloaded everything else into the marquee. The team assembled and decorated tall panels of green wall as backdrops for the stage and lounge area. We lugged and placed giant trees, plants and furniture, plumped cushions & throws, dressed tables with luxury linens, polished glass, mirror and candles, checked, tested and re-checked all our lighting.

The Big Day;  Final touches & final checks, ensuring every detail was flawless. After the caterers have laid tables, we added delicate touches of greenery to place settings, switched on LED dinner candles, tealights and church candles for lanterns, placed signage, set out the cushions for outdoor lounge furniture & parasols. Finally, we take some hurried photos of our work and disappear, like little elves before the guests arrive.

Each step was carefully planned and the magic of seeing a bare marquee transformed into a beautiful, bespoke wedding space is truly fulfilling. This is why we do what we do — to create moments that feel truly unforgettable.
Then........ we go back the next day and take it all away!
