Blue Moon worked in collaboration with Yellow Door to create this magnificent Grazing table; the contents of which were naturally the main talking point for invited guests such as food journalists and hospitality industry specialists.
We designed and created the huge Grazing table with its mossy table cover, log pot risers, handmade candles and a riot of colour with our incredible canopy of flowers, blossom and fruit which we commissioned from Janet of The Flower Room, Belfast.
Yellow Door’s feast was a culinary spectacle. Magical morsels from every county of Northern Ireland, displayed by Blue Moon in the most charming and enchanting manner we could muster.
Divine little cakes, dainty tarts and edible flowers were presented on slates, surrounded by bold, exuberant flowers and softly flickering, earthy coloured tealight holders. Wonderful displays of cheeses, chutneys, breads and biscuits were served up on our wooden log stumps for guests to sample.
Smoked salmon and oysters served in an ice filled giant clam shell prop, just some of the delicacies that our cheeky Belfast Seagull was eyeing up! These jewel coloured, handmade, tapered wax candles looked good enough to eat too and are available in an extensive range of beautiful, organic colours. Perfect to order for your special event. Blue Moon has a flock of cheeky Belfast seagulls to hire for guest appearances!
The room itself was a blank, somewhat dark canvas which was a great backdrop to recreate various elements of Northern Ireland countryside. Blue Moon screened the grey block interior of the auditorium with woodland walls filled with ferns, trailing ivy and apple branches and created a small orchard of red apple trees. Festoon lighting was strung through the ceiling rafters and LED up-lighters set to warm ambient tones placed around the perimeter of the room.
Being an island, our seafood is extraordinary and we needed something to represent our fishing industry. The lovely wooden rowing boat normally lives on the shore of Finnebrogue Lake, but somehow, we managed to squeeze it into the Blue Moon van with everything else in, around and underneath it!
This event was a feast in every sense of the word. Our thanks go to ND Events for commissioning Blue Moon Event Design to work on this event for Tourism NI.
